“It's the perfect storm of nostalgia and aesthetics. I'm bridging the gap between future, past, and present.”

Station magazine surely enjoyed getting to know Mikal Hill, creator of ’93 & Beyond’, during a conversation about his brand and his influences. An avid sneakerhead from Charlotte, NC, Mikal is influenced by 90’s fashion and style, as well as graphic design and anime. “I'm a big anime nerd, I was doing a rewatch of DBZ and saw the “nimbus” cloud so I had to incorporate it into my logo. People who notice it get the reference” One of the most intriguing things Station Magazine found about this University of NC Alum, was the oneness between himself and his brand.

”I've always been creative and wanted to start a clothing brand, but I never really dove deep into it, but the covid lockdown gave me that opportunity.”

“I put myself 100% into my brand, I design everything personally, even my social posts. I design everything the way I want to wear it. My closet is full of my own brand”. As a full time graphic designer Mikal struggled to find time to devote himself to creating his own brand. ”I've always been creative and wanted to start a clothing brand, but I never really dove deep into it, but the covid lockdown gave me that opportunity.” Mikal’s design skills combined with the down time that came with the covid 19 lockdown ultimately catapulted the launch of his brand.

When asked about the future of ‘93 & Beyond’, Mikal states,

“I plan to do this for a while, and I'd love to open up my own storefront and progress the culture of streetwear.”
