The Futura Laboratories X Nike SB Dunk Drops This May

Street artists and sneakers are kindred spirits. 

The connection is just undeniable.

This combination has spawned a lot of iconic sneaker releases through the years. Most of them reach untouchable holy grail status. You know, pairs that are hard to come by, and if you do, the current market values are way too high for the normal sneakerhead.

One legit partnership that perfectly fits that description is that of living street art legend Futura and Nike SB.

With a plethora of footwear collaborations under his name, Futura has been known to lace up silhouettes with his trademark graffiti art. Examples of such releases are the UNKLE SB Dunks and the very first Futura X Paul Rodriguez SB, both of which boast heavy graphic treatments. One of his recent collaborations was Off-White x Futura Dunk Low, which remains unreleased to the public to this day.

One thing's for sure though: the Futura Laboratories x Nike SB Dunk Low is finally slated for a May 2024 release.

A nice treat for the Futura fan. 

The Futura Laboratories x Nike SB Dunk Low is a visual showcase of the artist's creative journey. Channeling colorful layers of mesh and canvas, they serve as the perfect medium for Futura's abstract art style.

The iconic Futura signature can be found both on the tongue and the heel in both colorways. The medial side features the "FL" Futura Laboratories logo for added branding.

Although it was announced for next month, it's still a huge question if the orange colorway will see the light of day as a general release. Unlike the blue pair, which is already confirmed through Futura Laboratories, Nike SNKRS, and select skate shops worldwide. 

With an SRP set at $135, lucky ones will truly have a reason to celebrate if they do luck out on a pair.
